Emily Thorpe is a first year graduate student at Indiana University working on her Master’s Degree in the department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. She received her Bachelors of Science in Geoscience: Environmental Science from Winona State University in Minnesota. Her research involves examining the environmental factors of fossil reef ecosystems to determine important environmental drivers of fossil reef change and create correlations between the ancient past and the modern. She is interested in public outreach and presenting the wealth of information available from the rock record in order to inform and inspire modern environmentalism.
