For nearly 40 years Indiana University has been instrumental in the establishment, development and assessment of underwater parks in the United States and the Caribbean. Underwater park establishment is an effective way of preserving the submerged cultural and biological resources of a site for generations to come. Properly designed, interpreted and managed, underwater parks not only protect the resources for the future, but also play a vital role in educating the current generations about their historical past and environmental present.
