Ashton is a junior at Indiana University pursuing a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a Certificate in Underwater Resource Management. In 2025, Ashton participated in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Project, where he contributed to biological monitoring efforts by conducting fish and coral identification to support ecological assessments of the San Pedro, San Felipe, and City of Washington shipwreck sites.
