Courtney Eshelman is a Senior at Indiana University pursuing a degree in Animal Behavior and a certificate in Underwater Resource Management. She has been in the Academic Diving Program for three years and is currently working as a Divemaster and Teaching Assistant. Courtney participated in the 2021 Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Research Project where she assisted with the creation of biological assessments of the chosen sites. She then spent the summer and fall working at Quiescence Diving Services in Key Largo where she completed her Divemaster certification and learned the intricacies of the diving industry. During her stay, she also volunteered with the Coral Restoration Foundation where she assisted with the maintenance and upkeep of their coral nurseries. Courtney is passionate about coral reef ecology and restoration. She is primarily interested in coral resistance to climate change and the effectiveness of artificial reefs in conserving marine biodiversity.
