Biography

Carlos is a student at IU currently pursuing a degree in Underwater Archaeology with the Center for Underwater Science, while also minoring in Spanish. He is focusing on the artillery from the 16th century Punta Espada shipwreck in the Dominican Republic for his Individualized Major Program degree. He is particularly interested in the Carribean and the history surrounding the area because of his family's heritage from Puerto Rico. He hopes to continue learn more about his family and himself while continuing his research in the Carribean. He has been scuba certified since 2018 and is excited to help the IU Academic Diving Program as a certified Divemaster.
